Position: Receptionist 

Purpose of Position: To assist Heartland Forest in answering questions and providing information to the general public in a prompt and efficient manner. As well as communicating and delivering information throughout the Heartland Forest team  

Volunteer Responsibilities:
        ● Answering phones
        ● Taking and forwarding messages
        ● Overseeing volunteer sign in and out
        ● Overseeing visitor sign in and out

         ● Assisting with general administrative tasks 

Level of Difficulty 1=easy/5=demanding (physical, mental, emotional):
Physical: 1; minimal walking required
Mental: 2; having to remember or write down information
Emotional: 2; Lots of communication in person and over the phone

Orientation and Training:
Orientation would include a tour of the facility, and information on who would be expecting which sorts of calls. Training on phone use and how best to answer popular questions, and direct the public to the proper resources to inform them.

Schedule Guidelines:
Would be looking for a volunteer to work at least one consistent day of the week, year-round. Scheduling times can be flexible.

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must have reliable transportation and arrive on time for shifts
  • Must have general knowledge of Microsoft office and excel
