We need volunteers to help our environmental restoration staff!

Volunteers and sponsors play a vital role in supporting the health of Heartland Forest’s natural areas! We are looking for hands on support for our environmental projects. Help us remove invasive species, plant native trees and wildflowers, install nest boxes, care for our Community Tree Nursery, and maintain our Butterfly Way Station.

Volunteer in Our Community Tree Nursery! We need weekend waterers

Help us grow the next generation of forests by caring for native tree seedlings and wildflowers in our community nursery. Throughout the year, children, teens, and program participants collect acorns and other native seeds and rescue young tree seedlings that would otherwise be lost from gardens and pathways. These seedlings are nurtured over the summer before being planted in restoration projects or given away to the community. We are currently looking for weekend volunteers to help water seedlings and transplant native wildflower sprouts into larger growing spaces. Even a small amount of time can help hundreds of young plants thrive and support local biodiversity.
