🌼 Celebrate Pollinators with Heartland Forest! 🐝💙 Join us on Friday, June 6 (PD Day) for an afternoon of giving back to nature! We’ll be planting wildflowers in our meadow and building nest boxes for bumble bees and eastern bluebirds. 2 incredible species that help our ecosystems thrive.

📍 Location: Heartland Forest – 💲FREE – 👥 We need at least 20 volunteers (or families) that are willing to plant 20 wildflowers each AND build 1 nest box to make it happen! Recommended for ages 8 and up (younger siblings welcome to join!)

Here’s what’s in store:

  • 🌸Plant 436 wildflowers, that’s about 20 plants per person!
  • Build 14 bumble bee nest boxes to help supporting early spring pollinators
  • Assemble 6 bluebird nest boxes giving these natural insect-eaters a safe home
  • 1 adult per nest box (for supervision purposes)

🐝Why it matters:

Bumble bees are hardworking pollinators, especially important in early spring. Bluebirds help reduce insect populations that could otherwise harm pollinators. Together, they keep our ecosystem in balance.

We’ll place all the nest boxes in our meadow, creating a welcoming habitat for these vital creatures.
