Come join us May 24th at Heartland Forest to celebrate with these workshops:

10:30am-12:00pm- Invasive Species and Native Planting for Biodiversity

Join us on May 24th at 10:30 AM at Heartland Forest for a hands-on volunteer workshop focused on removing invasive plant species and restoring native plants to the local environment. Participants will learn how to identify common invasive and native species, understand the ecological impacts invasive plants have on wildlife and ecosystems, and discover why native biodiversity is so important for healthy habitats.

This interactive event gives volunteers the opportunity to make a direct environmental impact while gaining practical knowledge and experience in habitat restoration. No prior experience is needed — all tools, guidance, and training will be provided. Come prepared to learn, help the environment, and be part of creating healthier local ecosystems for the future.

This is a family-friendly event, so kids and adults of all ages are welcome to participate.

We will be meeting in the Atrium for this 1.5 hour workshop. This workshop is proudly sponsored by RBC. Thanks for the support!

12:30pm-1:30pm- Backyard Wetland Installation

Join us on May 24th from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at Heartland Forest for an interactive backyard wetland installation workshop and guided tour focused on the importance of wetlands and how they can be incorporated into local spaces to support healthy ecosystems.

Participants will explore different learning stations and activities related to backyard wetland creation, native plants, water management, and wildlife habitat. This workshop is a great opportunity to learn more about wetlands, ask questions, and gain hands-on experience while helping support environmental education and conservation efforts.

Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the surrounding natural areas at Heartland Forest. Prizes and giveaways will also be available after the event.

No prior experience is needed, and participants of all ages are welcome to join. This is a family-friendly event.

During the workshop and tour, volunteers will also have the opportunity to help plant native tree seedlings along the trail and contribute directly to local restoration efforts.

This event is a great opportunity to gain hands-on environmental experience, learn more about forest conservation, and help support healthier local ecosystems for the future.
